“Bullied existence”

Public interactive work with terracotta pieces by Sarban Chowdhury at the 8th Episode of Uronto Residential Art Exchange Program.

A depiction of how the Rajbari has been looted with the passage of time and currently left with ruins and scars. The loot takes place due to lack of concern and respect while only few can still realize the importance of such ancient structure as a witness of time.

Sarban Chowdhury from India, started his practice initially with stoneware, terracotta and porcelain, but gradually shifted his interest from clay and exploring wider possible medium. He wants his work to exist not as the ubiquitous “art object” but as something more enigmatic – foreign yet familiar, handmade yet somehow organic.
