Untitled (giving back)

These multidisciplinary expressions were created by Nabil Rahman during the 8th Episode of URONTO Residential Art Exchange Program in Naogaon, Rajshahi, BD.

The Rajbari (The Dubolhati Palace) belongs to itself before belonging to anyone else. A living, breathing structure, eaten away by time. Nabil’s work treats the structure as a wounded body in need of help. Cement and bricks as bandages, giving back instead of taking away. Skin grafting by using old bricks.

Hands and plants superimposed against the wall as well as in the cracks to remind others that the home still feels. It cares very little about who it belongs to.

Nabil Rahman is a Poet and Artist from New York and Bangladesh. With academic background on creative writing and journalism, Rahman has established his career as an Art worker. He doesn’t fix his medium in one thing, likes to experiment and choses whatever express his thoughts best.
