Traveling Time: Stories of the Past 01

In this series work, artist has tried to create artworks based on some real stories of a particular old house in Kushtia, Bangladesh. The owner of this old house was a police commissioner of Kolkata of undivided Bengal and India in the British period before 1947. The Artist, Sadya Mizan is a granddaughter of that police commissioner. So, Artist selected this place for her work for intense emotional region. And she has tried to reconstruct the memories around the house and rearranged some original elements of this house for her artworks. For example, Original Letter Box, original chair etc. She created a situation which is not real but which is basically based on some real stories.

The work expresses the process and the emotions related to the communications between a husband working in a neighbor country as a commissioner and a wife who is all alone in her husbands house in Kushtia with her kids. The work not only connected the elements of the story but also incorporated particular smells to create a alternative presence of certain characters of the story.

The original Nameplate Of the commissioner at the present situation.
The  Original Chair and the room with the recreated letters and the mailbox hanging.

The burning truth of the story in present time.  Is that the end of the memories or is it creating another memories?
