30 Mar Interactive Session at Witwatersrand, Johannesburg- WITS

Sadya Mizan-independent curator and Founder of URONTO Artist Community was invited as a guest lecturer by Ruth Sacks at the University of the Witwatersrand on 13 March 2019. It was a very interactive session with the Fine Art 4th year class for their Professional Practice session. It a very informal session as Mizan was invited to share about how an independent effort can make changes in the art scene, then their was also discussion about how the social media is playing a role for individual initiatives and How organizational structures are manipulating the Art market.

Ruth Sacks met Mizan in Johannesburg during her research trip in South Africa. After knowing her core initiative URONTO, Ruth felt interested and wanted her students have an interactive talk session with Sadya Mizan to motivate them to plan their activities and carriers ahead after they complete their studies.
