29 May Foundation for Art Initiatives (FfAI) Nomination
Congratulations to Sadya Mizan, the founder of URONTO Artist Community for being nominated and receiving the travel and research grant from the Foundation for Arts Initiatives (FfAI)
FfAI is an independent private foundation that has been making grants in support of contemporary arts around the world since 1999. FfAI’s travel and research grants program was established in 2001 to enable curators and artists to pursue their own research, separate from any institutional or professional obligations they may have.
Sadya Mizan came to the attention of FfAI through her work in founding and directing the URONTO Residential Art Exchange Program. However, FfAI’s grant is not for any particular past achievement but is intended to encourage her research and related travel for the development and furtherance of her work going forward.
This is the first nominated Grant from FfAI in Bangladesh to an individual. Sadya Mizan will embark her research for next one-year span in different locations globally.
These grants are awarded from time to time by nomination only, through the decision of the board of trustees.
