A performative installation with photographic collaboration by Yuvraj Zahed A Chowdhry during the 5th episode of Uronto residential art exchange program taking place in P K Sen building in Chottogram, BD.
Yuvraj A Chowdhury have been acquainted with the P K Sen building since his childhood. Due to the tomb the whole building is covered with an aristocrat look which attracted him the most. Chowdhury finally got his opportunity to enter inside the palace through Uronto Residential Art Exchange programs fifth episode. Collectively he came to know hereditary line of P.K.Sen. He is the son of Jatramoni sen and Uma Tara Devi. Imagining himself in 1916 Yuvraj could be observed as P.K.Sen along with his wife in his work done during the programme. Chowdhury tried to realize the aristocracy of PK Sen through installation, photography and performance. In his durational work process imaginative P.K.Sen along with his wife could be seen around the building while enjoying the view of Karnafuli, sometimes standing on the stairs, sometimes on the terrace or sometimes standing in front of the tomb.
With the passage of time P.K.Sen lost all of their aristocracy. Sri Krisna Sen of the male descendants of P.K.Sen wrote in his diary ,” During, 25th march 1971, Pakistan army grabbed and robbed everything…….”
Chowdhury collaborated with Shahariare Khan Shihab to recreate the moments of P K sen around the building in photography. and during his performance on the open studio day Akin Dhar was contributing by playing the Mandira all the way. Mandira is a pair of small bell-shaped cymbals- pioneering cultural renaissance of Bengal.
