Being a women of Bengal Artist considers that, “Partition” is one of the main courses in the history of Bengal. according to her, the partition of Bengal has obviously benefited the politicians more rather it has done the same in case of the ordinary people of both nations.
As an artist, she is strictly against the idea of boundaries Between nations and it is a tragedy to be separated from all the alluring and enchanting pleasures which gave us a feeling of mother’s affection. This rootless agony feels like a boat, floating in the Middle of an endless ocean,Without an oar to help the boatman to find his destination.
Thus, her installation of an abstract boat anatomy and shapes reflecting elements of shared stories with locally available materials is a symbolic representation of an uprooted soul.
The work was a collaboration between the artist and local craft-men, who are expert with bamboo works and framing techniques.
